On-line Sales is still a very young discipline.
The Internet is the medium and a website is the Sales Force. To a large extent different measures apply, i.e. you will not get a forecast from a website!
It is very much marketing driven and needs to be supported with marketing activities to make sure it works. On-line sales also requires a different skills set than you would use in traditional sales, and you have to have a good understanding of website technology and the behaviour of the on-line customers.
